Gwent Breastfeeding Welcome Scheme
We're looking for businesses and premises across Gwent to become 'Breastfeeding Welcome' venues. The Breastfeeding Welcome scheme aims to promote, protect and support parent’s right to breastfeed in public, and to increase the acceptability of breastfeeding as a normal activity.
What are the benefits to my business / premises?
As well as supporting parents’ legal right to breastfeed in public, being part of the scheme offers business/premises a number of benefits:
- Free publicity: Once accredited your business will be promoted via multimedia platforms across the Region and Wales, including regional breastfeeding and local authority websites, with national links.
- Potential new customers / clients. All new parents will be informed of 'Breastfeeding Welcome' venues both antenatally and postnatally. Parents with babies and young children will want to visit premises they know will cater for their needs.
- At intervals throughout the year local media will be informed of what is happening with breastfeeding in the Gwent Region.
