Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership Training Programme (EYDCP)

EYDCP is committed to developing the skills of staff working with children in early years or childcare settings within Torfaen.

An annual training programme is delivered over the academic year. Training Information is sent out to Childcare providers on a termly basis. The training programme provides essential statutory training which includes Safeguarding, Paediatric First Aid, Level 2 Food Safety, Manual Handling, Health and Safety including Risk Assessments.

There are also opportunities for further training such as Equality and Diversity, Code of Practice for Wales, Promoting Positive Behaviour, Awareness of Autism and many more.

Clebran  - Welsh language support for English-medium playgroups and nurseries who are not members of Mudiad Meithrin

Camua - Camau courses are ‘Work Welsh courses’ which are bespoke for early years and childcare sector. They provide these courses through self-study methods and we now offer a 60 hour Entry, Foundation and Intermediate level course.
