During pregnancy and from birth

It's never too early to speak to your baby. Did you know that even when they are in the womb, your baby can hear music, voices and so much more.

Speaking and singing to your little ones in Welsh while you are pregnant is a lovely way to submerse your child in language.

It can even kick in a touch of nostalgia singing old familiar favourites, that you may have sung as a child. Such as Gee Ceffyl Bach, Dau Gi Bach and Mi Welais Jac y Do?

You can borrow CDs, Welsh language books and DVDs from the library or buy them online from Sain and Amazon or other websites. You never know you may learn a few new songs along the way!

Baby and toddler groups are a fun way to learn the Welsh language while playing. There are a number of groups. You’ll also find plenty of information on the website of Mudiad Meithrin, a key organisation supporting early learning in Wales. Mudiad runs ‘Ti a Fi’ parent and baby groups.
