
Perinatal Mental Health
After the birth of your baby, it is understandable that the focus is on the mums during the postnatal period. However it is important we don’t forget about dad.
Here is a little information about Postnatal Depression and Anxiety in dads.
- First time dads appear to be more vulnerable to postnatal depression, compared dads of multiple children
- Postnatal depression in men usually go undiagnosed. Is usually most common from 3 to 6 months after birth.
- Postnatal Depression can show it’s self in a variety of ways. Here are a few:
- indecisiveness
- irritability
- insomnia
- withdrawal
- frustration
