Being a parent can bring joy and happiness as well as challenges, at times.
Through parenting positively and building meaningful relationships, parents can raise healthy children, develop a more calm and peaceful household, with fewer arguments and conflicts.
The Early Years Support Team work with families with children aged 0 – 7 years and living in Torfaen to improve parenting confidence and skills, strengthen relationships and nurture wellbeing and resilience.
We currently offer the following programmes to support families,
1 ‘Welcome To The World’ Ante Natal Group Programme for expectant mums, dads and partners between 22 and 30 weeks pregnant.
2 Incredible Years Babies Group For parents and their baby 0-5 months.
3 Elklan ‘Let’s Talk With Your Baby’ For parents and their baby 3-12 months.
4 Baby Allsorts Outdoor Group For parents and their baby 3-12 months.
5 Playful Parenting For parents and their children 1-3 years.
6 Incredible Years Toddlers Programme For parents with children aged 12-24 months.
7 Family Links Workshops For parents with children 2-4 years.
8 Circle of Security For parents with children 4 months-4 years.
9 Family Links Nurturing Programme For parents with children under 11 years.
10 Parents as First Teachers (PAFT) For families with children 0-4 years.
11 Dad and Me Sessions The dad and me sessions welcome all dads/male carers and/ or male family members, and their children 0-5 years.
12 Family Play Sessions The family sessions welcome all parents/carers, family members, childminders and their children 0-5 years.
13 For Dads by Dads A group for new and expectant dads who want to learn more about fatherhood and be the best dad they can be.
14 Forest Schools Outdoor Group This group is suitable for mums, dads and their children 0-3.
