Enhanced Health Visiting
The Flying Start Health Team will offer extra support and advice throughout pregnancy and the first years of your child’s life. Our Health Team have less people to look after so are able to spend more time with you. They will be able to help families with babies and toddlers with breast-feeding, bottle-feeding and weaning. Other support includes: speech and early language skills, behaviour, play activities, health lifestyles, family support for parents/carers and siblings, child development.
The Health team hold clinics most weeks in the community. This is a perfect opportunity for you to drop in if you have any concerns or if you just want the re-assurance of getting your little one weighed.
The team can provide you with details of all the Flying Start has to offer in your local area. They can also offer safety assessments where you can get free stair gates and fire guards.
As well as Health Visitors we also have Midwives, Mental Health Nurse, Clinical Psychologist and Community Health Nursery Nurses. All there to be able to offer you support if you need it.
Flying Start Health Visitors are based in the community but still attached to GP Surgeries. If you are not sure who your Health Visitor is please contact your surgery.
